Italist or the brand's official store: where should you buy?

The same designer piece can often be bought from the brand's own store or from Italist, which sells it new from Italian boutiques. Neither is always better: it depends on what matters most to you.

1. 01Price: Italist is often lower

   Italist sells current pieces sourced from European boutiques and advertises prices up to 60% below retail. Brand stores usually sell at full price outside their own sale periods. Compare the total at checkout, with duties and taxes, not just the price tag.

2. 02Authenticity: both are covered

   The brand's store is the original source. Italist says it works only with authorized boutiques carrying official merchandise, and gives a lifetime authenticity guarantee: a 100% refund if an item is ever found inauthentic.

3. 03Choice: the brand has the full collection

   The official store has every size, color and new release. Italist depends on what its partner boutiques have in stock, so the exact piece you want may not be there, or only in some sizes.

4. 04Delivery: know the timing

   Italist ships free and express from Italy, usually in 7 to 14 business days. Brand stores often deliver faster locally. If you need the piece for a date, check the delivery estimate on both before ordering.

5. 05Returns: read both policies

   At Italist, you have 14 days from delivery; return costs and duties are deducted from a card refund, not from store credit, and Final Sale items can't be returned. Brand stores have their own rules, often more generous: read them on the brand's site before you compare.
